Indigenous Peoples' Day video eCards

Be the first to know when Indigenous Peoples' Day cards launch.

Can't wait? Personalized Santa Claus cards are available now.

Indigenous Peoples' Day is observed on the second Monday of October, the same date as the federal Columbus Day holiday. A number of states, cities, Tribal Nations and schools mark it in place of Columbus Day or alongside it, so how it's observed depends on where you live. It's a day to recognize the Indigenous peoples of this land, their histories, their cultures and their continuing presence.

This card is a plain, sincere greeting, in keeping with the day. It's a short animated video that greets the person by name and shares words you write yourself. It won't use costumes, headdresses, stereotypes or cartoon caricatures of Indigenous people, and it doesn't try to speak for any Nation, community or tradition.

You might send one to an Indigenous friend, a colleague, a teacher or a mentor for whom the day has meaning. Or you could use it to thank someone who has helped you learn. Write in your own voice and be specific about what you appreciate; a real sentence about a real person means more than a broad statement. If you mention someone's Nation or community, use the name they use themselves and check the spelling. If you're not sure what would be welcome, a short 'Thinking of you today, and grateful for all you do' is always appropriate.

You'll read the exact script before you pay, so names are written the way you intend. Because names in any language can be tricky for a generated voice, simple spellings work best. The card is ready in minutes and arrives by email with a private link, plus a video to download in the video shape you choose.
